Overview of Techniques involved
1. Sourcing and Transporting raw materials and creation of wax model
- Wax moulds of all the parts are created and fused together.
2. Forming the earthen mould
- The wax model is coated with a paste of clay mixed with fine river sand, which is called ‘earthen mould’.
3. Drying the mould
- The earthen mould is dried in the shade until it is rid of all moisture
4. Heating the mould
- The mould being heated after it is fastened with copper wire.
5. Casting of the mould
- The metals are heated in a crucible until they form an amalgam, which is then poured into the mould and later cooled down.
Finishing
- The completed metal idol is given finishign touches.
